A member asked:

Should i be worried about my knee swelling up on top of my knee cap overnight it feels like a waterballon ?

Seek more advice: Most likely this represents swelling within your joint called an effusion or swelling outside the joint on top of the patella, called prepatellar bursitis. Either way, you should seek additional advice via a physician evaluation. For now, limiting your weight-bearing and icing the knee 20 minutes every 1-2 hours would be wise.
