A member asked:

Is it possible for a gynecoligist to know if you've been raped upon examination if rape was within two weeks (what about 6 months or more)?

Rape exams: This is one of those things that the sooner an assault victim is examined the better the forensic evidence obtained. Moreover, it allows the patient to obtain treatment for possible STD"S and obtain mental health counselling.

No: A gynecologist cannot tell if a rape has occurred two weeks or more later.
