Will a post-rape sti screening involve an internal examination?

Rape exam: After a rape, evaluation involves interview, physical exam and tests. Hopefully, one receives all from a very sensitive person. The physical exam does involve a genital exam to evaluate for trauma. Usually, an internal exam is done and a long q-tip takes a sample from inside to assess for std exposure. Call your md or the er you will go to and ask questions to help you be more comfirtable.
