Depends...: UTI is extremly common in woman ( due to anatomy- short urethra) Most common bacteria is E colli. Antiobiotics prescibed " empiricly - most common are Nitrfurantoin and Fluoroquinons . Treatmen is best decided basaed on microbial cluture of urine. Some bacterias may be resistant and choice is based on antibiotics sensitivity. Different choices in rare UTI's vs. Reccurent. Also if pregnant or age.
