A member asked:

I've had an abortion and then a leep 8 years ago. my husband and i have been trying to conceive for 3 months. am i infertile?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No. : Of 100 healthy couples trying to get pregnant, half are pregnant by 6 months, 75% by 9 mos, and 85% by one year, which means 15% of healthy couples will take more than a year to conceive. We don't usually recommend testing before the year unless there are obvious risk factors. An uncomplicated termination or a LEEP shouldn't affect getting pregnant, but get preconception info from OB. Good luck!
