Bacterial vaginosis?: The main cause of strong vaginal odor, sometimes with discharge, is bacterial vaginosis, an overgrowth of mostly normal bacteria. There is debate about whether BV is considered an STD, but it's often triggered by sex, and other STDs (gonorrhea, chlamydia) are more common in women with BV. BV usually is pretty easy to diagnose and treat, so keep working with your doctor. Good luck!
