Mucus: Mucus in stool is seen with irritable bowel syndrome. Increased fat content, however, can indicate intestinal malabsorption, gluten sensitivity, or pancreatic insufficiency. I recommend an evaluation by a gastroenterologist for diagnosis and treatment.
