Depends: It depends on the cause of the knee pain. If it is pain associated with arthritis, we often have to evaluate what type of exercise you are doing and make adjustments. If pain is from internal derangement such as a meniscus tear, it might need to be addressed surgically. If pain is overuse in nature, resting, icing, compression will be effective.
