Gastric retention: This gastric retention of breakfast contents is due to either gastroparesis or a mechanical obstruction. The absence of severe pain or cramps favor gastroparesis as a cause in your case. Diabetes is one cause. I recommend that you consult a gastroenterologist for diagnosis,testing and treatment. Avoid greasy foods which slow gastric emptying.
