Not a good idea: Of course, one can only treat what has been identified as the cause. On the other hand,most temporary sore throats are from a viral infection and celestamine would not help it (potentially prolonging the duration of the illness). Try saline gargle or topical anesthetic lozenges provided that a strep throat has been ruled out.
