Ear Check in 1 Month: Middle Ear infections typically cause a buildup of fluid behind the eardrum. Antibiotics treat infection but fluid gradually resolves over 1-3 months for many. Watchful waiting is sufficient intervention for most. This retained fluid can cause loss of hearing, also ear pain and pressure however these symptoms disappear once fluid is gone. See your doctor in a month to confirm complete resolution.
