Am nausea: Morning nausea which doesn't occur during the rest of the time may be due to delayed emptying of the stomach from food ingested in the hours before bedtime. I assume you test your morning blood sugar and it is under control and not the cause of the nausea. Try to avoid going to bed with food in your stomach and avoid greasy foods. If symptoms persist, consult a gastroenterologist.

Slow stomach: Hi EternalC, if it is related to food,it could be gastroparesis, or slow churning of the stomach. Just like in diabetic neuropathy, the nerves that run to the stomach can become dysfunctional due to high blood sugars. This means that it can take a long time to process your meal. Medications like metformin can also cause upset. Small, healthy meals and good glucose control is best.

Nausea: Two items: 1: You must see your doctor about your nausea. 2: If you have type 2 diabetes you should work with an Endocrinologist and Nurse Practitioner to overcome type 2 diabetes. Yes, it is true that type 2 diabetes is present but the goal must be to get rid of type 2 diabetes.
