A member asked:

I been on birth control since june 20, 2016 and i had sex yesterday without using any protection, is there a chance of me getting pregnant ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Condoms: Condoms not only protect from getting pregnant but also from sexually transmitted infections. Birth control pills, if taken as prescribed, are considered more effective to prevent pregnancy than condoms, but do not protect from sexually transmitted infections. Home urine pregnancy tests can become positive as early as one week after conception, almost always are they positive at the time of menses
