A member asked:

I was hit in the face recently and now when i blow my nose my eye moves like outward due to the pressure, why is it doing this?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Emergency problem: After facial trauma to eye sockets or the sinuses, a person SHOULD NOT blow her nose. If she blows her nose, air and bacteria can be forced through the cracked bones and into the space behind the eyeball, thus pushing the eyeball forward. Bad things like and infection behind the eyeball and even blindness can happen. An eye MD doctor and an ENT doctor should evaluate now; or one can visit the E.R.
