A member asked:

If n fowleri was present in tap water (unlikely i know), would simply getting it in your nose from the shower be enough to infect?

No: In real life, a Naegleria fowleri infection does not happen that way... unless you are the unluckiest person on the planet. So, fear not the tap water.

N. Fowleri: There have been 8 case-reports of Primary Amebic Meningoencephalitis caused by Naegleria fowleri in Arizona between 1962 and 2016. It is extremely rare. The reference shows the number of cases of PAM related to potable water exposure - very, very few. REF: https://www.cdc.gov/parasites/naegleria/graphs.html
