Odor "unmasked": A tampon will not eliminate the vaginal odor if it is caused by bacterial vaginitis. Make a "date" with your GYN MD who will "movie" mountains to diagnose and resolve this issue before you offend the nose of your date and all the others seated near you in the cinema.
