Irregular periods: At your age it is not unusual or abnormal to have time regular periods, discomfort it takes until the age of 21 for the periods to regulate. Just be sure there is no pregnancy if you are sexually active. At your age when the cycle comes it can be painful very uncomfortable heavy bleeding and just makes you feel sick. This will regulate itself over time.
