Intestinal infection: Very likely a gastrointestinal infection commonly caused by viruses. Most are self limited and would not require excessive intervention. If tolerated continue regular diet or if preferred, offer bland diet; rice water or plain rice, mashed potatoes, banana and soup broth, homemade if possible. Celery cut in the soup may help fight the infection. Consult if febrile, or if bloody &/mucoid stools.
