Depo shot: Depo shot is an effective contraceptive because it slowly releases a hormone into your blood stream so your ovaries "think" you're pregnant and don't release a new egg. The rest of your body, being bathed in the relatively high levels of a progesterone, feels like it's pregnant! Voilà!
