Dr likely right: Your problem may well be from acid reflux. There are medications one can try to reduce the symptoms. Avoid drinking (other than 4 oz of water) 3 hrs before bedtime and sleep on a wedge with 4-6 inch elevation to see if this helps. Talk to your doctor if a Rx drug is needed.
