Clean wound: The most important thing to do with a wound is to clean it thoroughly with copious water and soap. We use minor wounds as a reminder of the need for tetanus immunization. If you have not had a tetanus booster in more than 10 years, you should get another booster shot for tetanus now ( The usual booster shot also protects against diphtheria) .
