Depends upon age: The need for reading glasses starts in the late 30s and increases throughout the 40s until the early 50s. The power needed will increase over this time, but + 1.00 is a good starting point and should work at your age. As you age, the power every several years will need to be adjusted but typically ends at +3.00 or so.
