HCTZ (hydrochlorothiazide) and wine: 50s F from US Says She stopped wine when she started HCZ. I can think of no reason to stop wine when taking HCTZ (hydrochlorothiazide) unless blood Na low. I recommend a glass a day if you like it. I prefer Red. Cheers!

I take 12.5mg hydrochlorothiazide for BP. Missed 2 doses & got pitting edema in my legs, one worse than the other, and my fingers felt tight. I think it's from missing - never had it before, and good echocardiogram 6 months ago. Should I be worried?
