Better yeast meds: Have your doctor do a yeast culture. This will confirm that the yeast is the correct diagnosis. It will also determine which specific type of yeast is causing the issue. Diflucan (fluconazole) only treats about 70% of yeast cases. Other kinds of yeast besides candida albicans are resistant to Diflucan (fluconazole).
