Period changes: Irregular periods are common and there are a number of causes. You can have hormone imbalance either naturally or through contraception which can cause bleeding changes especially if you forget to take the pill or if you are on an implant or injectable. Stress and weight change can cause changes to your cycle. Cervical changes and infection can also cause changes in bleeding pattern.

Common problem : Irregular periods are one of the most common problems obgyns treat. If this is one time problem it usually resolves on its own. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infections & hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do a home pregnancy test . There are many options available to help regulate the menstrual cycle. Schedule a visit.
