Light period: Every woman's cycle is different. Some are very light and only last a couple days. Some are heavy, crampy and miserable for days. Birth control pills can make symptoms more bearable and can shorten the duration of periods over time. Sometimes periods can be longer or shorter than usual one month for no apparent reason. If worried, she can always take a pregnancy test.
