Your doctor can help: We need more information about the blood counts(CBC) of your father. His doctor should try to find the cause of his anemia which in elderly folks can be due to impaired production of red cells or bleeding,often from the intestines. Two conditions that come to mind are: 1. MDS(blood counts numbers can help us here) and 2. Colon cancer. He may need a colonoscopy unless his bone marrow is not making
