I have poison ivy and it has become systemic. i was given a cortisone shot on friday but have not had much relief. should i return to my doctor?

Yes: Generalized poison ivy contact dermatitis can be a long drawn out and uncomfortable process. One cortisone injection may not be effective and more aggressive treatment and follow-up may be needed. Return to your physician or consult a dermatologist if your symptoms are severe.

Contact dermatitis: You may need more steroids to reduce the inflammation, meantime try benadryl (diphenhydramine) 25 mg 2-3 times day and get back with your doctor
