I'm 5 days into taking antibiotics for my cold (3 per day, 500mg amoxicillin) and i don't feel any better, is there anything else i can do?

Below: Many times the problem is a combination of bacterial and viral etiology The antibiotic will help with the bacterial component, but the viral part will just "run its course". This will take a few weeks, usually. Continue to drink lots of fluids to loosen any secretions that you may have, and continue taking the antibiotic to complete the full course given to you.
