Recently had a mammo and sonocine. sono came back normal but mammo cam back that i needed diagnostic mammo. isn't the sono more reliable?

Not as a screen: The mammogram is a more effective general screening tool, whereas a sono is better at looking at one specific area

Get the mammo: If there was a mammographic abnormality for which they recommended diagnostic mammogram, please follow through. Ultrasound cannot always show what is on a mammogram especially if there are micro calcifications which are sometimes due to breast malignancy. Ultrasound is more helpful for palpable abnormalities and mammography densities, but does not substitute mammogram.
