Moving bowel: Sometimes physician listens to abdomen with stethoscope and hears bowel making noise of normal movement or peristalysis. Sometimes if very hungry sounds can be heard related to bowel motion. It is normal for bowel to make some noise when peristalses. No bowel sounds mean bowel is staying completely still sometimes called paralytic ileum. High pitched sounds can be heard in bowel obstruction.
