See answer: A tender lump in the breast is often due to a simple cyst in a young person. However if the lump is not in the breast, but below the breast, it would be due to something else. See your physician for an exam if the lump persists or gets larger.

Needed Medical check: Breasts can become tender and lumpy for a few days before your menses begin (prementruallly). So I would advise you to wait and watch for 7-10 days and recheck yourself after the period has come and gone(5-6 days after the onset of menses).
