Nothing means nothin: A metabolic profile is a "snapshot" or picture of what your bodies changing systems are doing at the point the blood is drawn.The research behind it requires the patient be at a comparable point with other test subjects.When they say don't eat/drink ANYTHING before the study that is what they mean.If they want to study subjects after coffee, they would require all to drink it & specify the amount
