Beta HCG values: Beta HCG values should double every 48 to 72 hours at this stage in pregnancy. Since it has not done so could mean a normal pregnancy that is lagging in development, an ectopic pregnancy as yet undiscovered, or nothing at all. A re-check of the beta HCG and ultrasound is warranted.

Possible miscarriage: "doubling" is a misnomer. HCG should go up by atleast 50% to suggest a normal pregnancy in 48 hours. If it did, its good, If it didnt, you are likely to have a miscarriage Best wishes Dr M
