Mgt: If there is a small amount of fluid or inflammation this will resolve in a few weeks. If you experience fever, chest pain or difficulty breathing, I would advise seeing the ED for further management . Chest imaging may be helpful in following your progress.

Friction rub: Hi Prios, this usually happens when you have fluid, inflammation, and sometimes scarring in your lungs. If it is after you have recovered from a viral illness or pneumonia, then it usually goes away after a week or two. If this is new, and associated with new infectious symptoms, then you should see your doctor for an evaluation. A lung exam and a chest xray are the usual studies. Hope that helps.
