Venous pressure: When you blow your nose, especially when it is obstructed, you are increasing the venous pressure in your head and behind your eye. That venous pressure can be enough to move your eyes forward and make them feel like they are bulging out of their sockets. Rarely, some people have enlarged veins behind the eye and when they increase in pressure they can force the eye quite a bit forward.
