Slow bowel movement: Your baby was born premature and likely to have bit mild slow bowel movement at present ,but will be O.K. as he grows .You can give infant( small ) glycerine suppository or one teaspoon of prune juice and watch the response . The baby will pass stool , if no result then talk to your doctor.

Check up first: Your newborn will benefit from a check up first to ascertain that he is constipated. Frequency of BM vary with age, type of milk and more importantly possible associations with other conditions that will require intervention. While waiting for a consult try eliminating cow milk from baby's diet, document frequency of BM, consistency, weight gain, other symptoms that will help with mgt. Take care
