Pregnancy test: If the bleeding pattern has changed from a 4 - 5 day regular strength flow to the described one, the first thing that needs to be ruled out is a pregnancy. If that is not the case this situation can be observed for a few month. Checking the thyroid gland is something that can be one down the road.
