SERMS/Tamoxifen: Tamoxifen is a Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulator. Tamoxifen blocks the effects of estrogen in breast tissue, however in bone, tamoxifen is able to stimulate the estrogen receptor, and SERMS are actually considered a treatment for osteoporosis. If you have been treated for breast cancer, I would immediately report any bone pain to your treating physician right away, even coccydynia.
