I would not: If you have no medical indications to be induced other than your desire, i would like to talk you out of it. As we say "let the nature take its course". When people start interfering with the natural course of things and something doesn't work out the way it would have, then there would be no one to blame but yourself.

Not a good idea: At 36-37 wks a male infant would have a 30-40% risk of needing oxygen and nursery intensive care, a girl infant might do a bit better. Any inductions before 39 wks are prohibited at my delivery hospitals except for the medical needs of the mother.Far too many babies have had significant issues when this has occurred in the past.
