A member asked:

Taking metronidazole for bacterial vaginosis. will metronidazole affect my menstrual cycle or period? will bacterial vaginosis affect my menstrual cycle or period?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

On pill? yes: Flagyl can interfere with the absorption of the pill and this rarely leads to unexpected pregnancy If you are not on the pill it should not affect your period. Don't drink alcohol when you take it, it will make you feel sick.
