Maybe :-): I have treated many patients with mental health issues that also cause insomnia. There are many people who will always need something to help them sleep whether it is a mild over-the-counter sleep aid or a prescription mental health medication. Ambien may work wonderfully to get you to sleep as you taper off of Geodon (ziprasidone) however you may ultimately become dependent on Ambien. Many physicians do not physicians do not like Ambien for its side effects. Also many doctors do not like giving patients sleep aids because of dependency
