Postcoital bleeding: Bleeding after intercourse happens when there is inflammation of the cervix, due to either a vaginal infection or lesion, a cervical polyp, cervical dysplasia (precancerous changes), or more frequently "ectropion" - this happens frequently in women that are on the pill - the inside lining of the cervix expands to the outside - google it and select images.
