My son had genetic test sent to harvard for hgb disorder. he also has low muscle tone. would the genetic testing pick up muscular dystrophy too?

Generally not: That would be like doing a compression test on a car engine and finding a brake problem. You only find (or not) what you're looking for. And muscular dystrophy isn't just a matter of muscle tone. You need to read up on a disease or condition before you start making these transcontinental jumps to conclusions.
