?other way around...: There's no standard symptoms, but SIBO may result from altered gut motility. Breath testing is usually diagnostic in identifying SIBO. For others, symptom response to empiric antibiotics aimed at treating suspected SIBO may be helpful. Assessing & treating why your gut may be sluggish should reduce your risk of post-treatment SIBO recurrence however.

I don't believe so.: You should probably get another evaluation and the testing that was recommended. Meanwhile, you could try some high quality probiotics (32 B CFUs) or saccharomyces that paradoxically might give your bowel the "good" bacteria/yeast you may need to fight any "bad" ones.
