Cause not clear: If there is pain in your upper abdomen on the left side it may or may not be related to the pancreas. Most patients with diabetes do not have pain related to the pancreas. Would suggest that if pains persist you should see your physician.

Not likely: Pancreatic pain from diabetes is very unlikely unless someone has a history of chronic pancreatitis and this pain is classically in the mid upper abdomen with radiation of the pain straight through to the back. I would see a doctor regarding this pain.

Suggest evaluation : Pancratitis more typically atarts as abdominal pain that goes through to your back, what you are describing would start me looking at your heart and for pneumonia among other possibilities i think you would be best served to seek evaluation without hesitation.

Hmmm: Would be difficult to say if pancreas is source of pain. A visit to your doctor would be helpful.
