Anxiety can: Give us a feeling of disconnection from reality. Having said that it is important to get evaluated by a mental health professional. We need to stay in touch w/life, painful as it sometimes is. Taking breaks from it is one thing but a deep or long-lasting break is not helpful. Peace and good health.

Derealization : Sounds like you are experiencing derealization. Derealization (sometimes abbreviated as DR) is an alteration in the perception or experience of the external world so that it seems unreal and can result from severe anxiety such as in a panic attack. It can also be a result of other medical or neurological issues. Best to see a GP to rule out these issues while also seeing a mental health prof.
