Drug interactions: Zoloft (sertraline) and ibuprofen: Studies show these two together can increase the risk of bleeding (as they can alone) especially in the presence of kidney or liver disease. Pt should be told to watch for easy bruising, bleeding, dizziness, melena, coffee ground emesis, severe headache or weakness. Zoloft (sertraline) and synthroid: No known serious drug interaction between these two but see link below.

Risk of bleeding: Zoloft and ibuprofen can both increase the risk of bleeding. The interaction is described as moderate via drugs.com. The additive increased risk of bleeding would be worse in elderly with liver or kidney disease or any blood dyscrasia. Zoloft and Synthroid (thyroxine) have no known adverse interaction.
