Check a test: If you think you might be pregnant check then check a home pregnancy test. They are cheap, reliable and available at any pharmacy. PCOS causes irregular periods. Progesterone can be used to trigger a menstrual cycle but it does not work for everyone. Birth control pills are often more effective to regulate the cycle in PCOS patients
