Dr. can check chest: A doctor can listen to the lungs and check the chest to see if anything unusual is going on. Asthma is an obstructive problem, where one has trouble breathing out. Sometimes, asthma patients can get a tiny air leak on the surface of a lung, leading to a pneumothorax (collapsed lung).
